WTF Edition

Ok, so it's been a looooong while since I last posted something. Real Life kept me away from the net for a while but I'm back and here with some WTF moments in products.

The Fetus Cookie Cutter...this is pretty self explanatory but seriously, who in the world would want to eat cookies shaped like unborn babies!?

The Dog Masturbation Doll...again, self explaining but I wonder what kind of sick person wants a sex toy for their dog. One in which they have to clean out the lovely little pouch that holds the dogs...um...leavings. Really? You'd buy this for your dog?

The Playmobile Hazmat set. Really? You want your kids to pretend that they're hazardous waste collectors...well, alrighty then. No accounting for taste I suppose. And I actually really like Playmobile, they have awesome toys, but this one just left me scratching my head.

And last for this entry:

Cat Butt Gum...read that again. CAT BUTT GUM. As in gum you chew...that tastes like cat butt? Or just comes in a cat butt shaped container? Cause either way, still sounds way too gross for me, sorry.

Until next time, stay strange my friends!

Product FAILS

These are products that I personally feel are fails in both the *apparent* need for them and also for just poor planning on designers parts. My opinion only, so take it all with a grain of salt and possinly a nice stiff drink to up the hilarity.

First we have...The BJ Light!
Really? You need a light for this? Ok, so going down on your man or woman may not be the most graceful thing at times but it's pretty easy to do with a ceiling light, floor lamp or candle giving you some sort of light in the room if you need it. Most do it in the dark so why need a light to begin with? Plus the fact that it looks like a headset for telemarketing...

Next we have... Chicken in a Can!
Ok ewww...gelatinous pre-cooked fowl in a can...in it's own nasty gelatinous looking 'gravy'. I'm not even sure that is gravy and frankly, the idea of what it could be makes me ill. I've seen videos on YouTybe showing people eatting this stuff and gagged the whole time. In fact, most of them were gagging too so it's obviously as hideous in taste as it is in looks. I'd rather eat Spam.

And last, but certainly not least since I have a ton more weird things to add later, are the Horse Undies!
Seriously Japan, WTF!? I...I can't even talk about these save that they give whole new meaning to "Ride the Pony"...

Until next time my friends...stay weird!

The Jabuticaba

The Jabuticaba, or Brazilian Grape Tree is one of the most awesome fruit trees I've ever seen. They've been around for who knows how long but I've only just found out about them and I want a few for my yard so badly! Pictures and info below is from Wikipedia.
***

The Jabuticaba (also called Brazilian Grape Tree, Jaboticaba, Jabotica, Guaperu, Guapuru, Hivapuru, SabarĂ¡ and Ybapuru) is a fruit-bearing tree native to Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. The fruit is purplish black, with a white pulp; it can be eaten raw or be used to make jellies and drinks (plain juice or wine).

The fruit tree (named jabuticabeira in Portuguese) has salmon-colored leaves when they are young, turning green posteriorly. It is a very slow growing tree which prefers moist, lightly acidic soils for best growth. It is widely adaptable, however, and grows satisfactorily even on alkaline beach-sand type soils, so long as they are tended and irrigated. Its flowers are white and grow directly from its trunk in a cauliflorous habit. Naturally the tree may flower and fruit only once or twice a year, but when continuously irrigated it flowers frequently, and fresh fruit can be available year round in tropical regions.

The jabuticaba (Myrciaria cauliflora (Mart.) O.Berg. [Myrtaceae]) is a small tree native to Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil grown for the purple, grape-like fruits it produces. Traditionally, an astringent decoction of the sun-dried skins has been used as a treatment for hemoptysis, asthma, diarrhea, and gargled for chronic inflammation of the tonsils. The fruit is 3-4 cm in diameter with one to four large seeds, borne directly on the main trunks and branches of the plant, lending a distinctive appearance to the fruiting tree. It has a thick, purple, astringent skin that covers a sweet, white, or rosy pink gelatinous flesh. Common in Brazilian markets, jaboticabas are largely eaten fresh; their popularity has been likened to that of grapes in the US. Fresh fruit may begin to ferment 3 to 4 days after harvest, so they are often used to make jams, tarts, strong wines, and liqueurs.

So as you can see, these trees are great and since I love exotic fruit they're another to put on the menu. Now all I have to do is find a rare fruit tree grower in Ohio...this may take a while. *grumble*

Creepy Doll

Wow...I've already got a phobia of porceline dolls but this just scares the daylights out of me.

Now, I have no problem with the whole prosthetic thing, it's a great thing for people that are missing limbs and I wholly support the use and advancement of them, but a doll? How creepy can you get? The dull lifeless eyes in these things are scary enough but lopping off a leg or two? Just creepy if you ask me...I mean, dolls like this already look like zombies out to eat your brains but now they're missing their limbs and have prosthetics? Ugh...I don't know who makes these and I'm not sure I want to but to each their own I suppose. But for me, if I ever got one of these, it would be a 'burn it with fire' moment in my house...

Awesome and Strange Products

Ok, the world of consumerism is full of useful and not so useful things. It is also full of things that are either stupid or the things of nightmares. However, I present to you thing that I've found and want...badly.
They are either awesome to the extreme or weird enough to elicit fits of happy giggles when I think about them.
One day my pretties...I shall own you!

The Butter Stick from Japan...when I first saw this I wanted it and covet it to this day. How awesome would it be to have? No more knives, no more mess, just a simple twist tube of delicious buttery goodness!

The Cookie and Coffee cup...holy cow this is sweet! I want some of these, I really do but the only problem I see is if you tip the cup just a little your poor cookies will be on a rollercoaster ride to the floor...and that's so sad...

Designed by Jules Ponsioen and Jeremy Nagel the HOI Magazine Chair is the stuff of dreams to me. I'm a huge book person and having a chair that surrounds me in my beloved little paper retreats would be the be all and end all of my (eventual) library room. If only it didn't cost a small fortune...

Ok, ok I know this is just a watermelon, but look at that packaging! Godzilla has always been a fave monster of mine and this packaging just enforces his awesomeness in my opinion. You know you've all trampled mini lego or block cities pretending to be him when you were little, now you can pretend you're eatting his unborn offspring in all thier watermelony deliciousness!

*coughs and gets a hold of myself again*

Excuse me, let the awesome get to me, I apologize. But it's all still awesome in a strange way I think. Or maybe it's just me...either way, rock on all you creators of the awesome!

~Shara (wow, lot's of awesomes in this huh?)

For all you prospective Cannibals out there...

Ever want to eat a human but were too afraid of the negative repercussions? Well, you may (or may not) have your chance with...HUFU!

Mark Nuckols, CEO of HUFU, states that it's a healthy alternative to human flesh. Now, there's been a lot of talk about whether or not HUFU is a real product, will ever be made, has already been made, or even actually tastes like human (let's be honest, if you know what human tastes like, you're not about to blab it to everyone you know.) Here's the Wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hufu

Personally, I've always had a morbid fascination with things like this. Cannibals, serial killers, cults, conspiracies, they've all caught my imagination because of how outlandish or truly frightning they can be. And while I have my own food phobias (I can't eat food that squeaks on my teeth or anything slimey...don't ask) I've actually been quite curious about trying this HUFU stuff if it actually comes to pass. I mean, what do I taste like? Chicken? Pork? Skittles? Oh wait, couldn't be Skittles, I'm not sweet enough... Bah, whatever, I still want to know what it tastes like!

There, I said it, I want to eat a fake human. *insert evil laugh here*

It's a strange product to be sure, but stranger things have been made that took off so who knows? With something as strange as HUFU and with so many starts and stops, we may never know what Long Pork really tastes like unless we happen to indulge in a little illegal activity, which is NOT recommended.

But wait, there's more! Apparently a trend is cropping up in Japan for Cannibal Banquets where you and your party is served a human body made entirely of food and it even 'bleeds' when you cut into it. Not sure how true this is either, but awesome nonetheless. Thank you Japan yet again for your wacky ideas!

Until next time my little cannibal wannabes!

What the Hell?

Alright, I can't help but post this and before anyone says anything I'm not even going to bother with Bratz or Barbie for this one, it's too damn easy.

Why are we selling toys teaching our little girls to be sluts and hookers? Stripper bars? Hooker horses? WTF?! Do we really want our children growing up to think that that kind of thing is okay? Who thinks this is a good idea, seriously?!
If I had a daughter and I saw her playing with ANY of the toys out there that promote this kind of thing, she's getting a spanking and sent to her room for weeks if not months if I let her out at all.

When you're grown and know the repercussions, whatever, sell yourself and lose your dignity if that's what you want, but CHILDREN should never be involved or encouraged to do it!

I just don't understand the mentality behind designing these toys. Did they have a Think Tank for it? Someone pipes up in back saying "Stripper Poles for little girls! Horses dressed as hookers! Dolls that are slutty!" and everyone else cheered and applauded? I mean, seriously...why?!

It's almost like the newer generations have forgotten that class is a state of mind, not just something you have to deal with in school. When I was little, if I even thought about being slutty my parents whapped me upside the head, they didn't go out and buy me things to encourage it! I see little girls dressed in bikinis and high heels and clothes that no self respecting adult would be caught dead in unless they were ladies of the night for crying out loud!

It saddens me to think that in a few years I may have a child and it may be a girl...to think, raising the poor thing in a world that okay's the use and construction of tiny slut toys...it makes me shudder and my womb clench in fear and disgust. Any mother, or father for that matter, that buys these kind of toys for their children should be reported to child services and taken for a psych exam. And those that make them should just be taken out back and beaten for their sheer stupidity. But that's just my opinion, though I know I'm not alone in thinking it.

Retarded Animal Products

The Chew Toy Table Leg Cover...
Am I the only one that see's this as a bad thing? Teaching your dog that it's ok to chew on the legs of your furniture. Wouldn't he continue to think it's alright even after you take the thing off once if gets all skeevy? I can see homeowners screeching because Fifi has gnawed the leg off the coffetable because, well, it was ok before right?

Fish Bowl Bookends...
Alright, this is just stupid. I am a great lover of all things book and the one thing I and those that are like me knows is that water and books do not mix! I can see these evaporating over the course of a few days, if only a little, and ruining whatever books you have between them. Not to mention the poor fish will probably die a slow and horrible death, with no airation, no filtration and such a small space. Cruelty to animals and books, it should be illegal I tell you!

Cover-ups for your dogs bunghole...
Seriously? You really worry that much about your dogs backdoor showing? Really? And the girl looks creepy too...waaaay too happy about the flower covering her dogs ass.

The iPod dock in a Dog Jacket...
NO! I am honestly so tired of all the crap they come up with for the damn iPods and now this? Why would you do this? Don't you have a pocket or one of those arm bands that hold your stupid little music box for you? You really have to make your poor dog suffer by carrying and hearing your lousy music? Sheesh people, just stop it already...

The Pet Highchair...
Now, I know most people love their pets and those with tiny pets seem to love them a little more in a crazy sort of way. They treat them like babies, dressing them up and carrying the poor things everywhere and now this? Why? I'm an animal person, I adore animals, but treating a dog or cat like your child and dressing it up in frilly little outfits or giving it a HIGHCHAIR is just ridiculous! It's a DOG people...they are not supposed to sit at the table, think of the hygiene if nothing else!

Ok, that's all I can handle for stupid pet products at the moment, I think my I.Q. just dropped 40 points...I need coffee and the Science Channel to fix this problem.
